Our Story
From Diagnosis to Purpose
Before cancer, life was steady. We worked hard, traveled often, and poured ourselves into raising our family. We were just living — doing the normal, everyday things that now feel like luxury.
But in 2022, everything changed.
Michael wasn’t himself. He wasn’t eating. He was losing weight. His skin was peeling, his nails turning black — and still, no one could tell us why. The hardest part wasn’t the treatment; it was the waiting. The not knowing. The feeling in my gut that something was wrong before anyone could give it a name.
Then came the diagnosis:
Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
His head dropped. My mind went blank.
But the first thing out of both our mouths was:
“What do we have to do to fix this?”
Walking Through the Storm
From that moment on, we went into fight mode.
A typical chemo day started with bloodwork and a doctor’s visit to make sure his body could handle treatment. Then we’d head to the infusion center. He’d sit for six to eight hours while pre-meds and chemo were administered. We watched Ozark on Netflix. I packed homemade sandwiches. We learned how to be together in silence and in hope.
The treatment took a toll on Michael’s body, but through it all, he showed incredible strength. And every single day, I was there — as his caregiver, his advocate, and his wife. He says if it weren’t for me and the grace of God, he wouldn’t have made it.
We leaned hard on prayer and on the small kindnesses from others.
Cards from coworkers. A gas card from the hospital. An anonymous bill payment.
Even handwritten notes from a hospital housekeeper — those became the bright spots in our day.
We never asked for help. But people showed up anyway.

The Turning Point
In the middle of it all, I found myself searching — looking for something to make him more comfortable during treatment. Something soft, something accessible. A shirt that didn’t require being undressed every time a nurse needed access to the port. There was nothing out there. Nothing in the hospital stores. Nothing online at the time.
That’s when it hit me:
What if we created what we needed?
What if this whole experience — this pain, this waiting, this fight — could turn into something that helped someone else?
Healing, and What Came Next
Today, Michael is healed. And our life looks different. We don’t take anything for granted. We protect our peace. We say “I love you” more. And we live with a deeper awareness of what truly matters.
This journey could have ended in an instant. But it didn’t.
And because we’re still here, we’re committed to making this life count — not just for us, but for others who are walking through their own storm right now.
That’s why we started our foundation — to offer practical support to cancer patients and caregivers, just like the help we received when we didn’t even know how much we needed it.
That’s also why we created port shirts — comfortable, stylish, accessible apparel designed with dignity in mind. These shirts make treatment days easier, and they remind patients that they are still whole, still beautiful, and still strong.

Why We Do This
Because someone helped us.
Because kindness carried us.
Because no one should walk through cancer feeling unseen or alone.
Through every thread, every gift, and every act of support, we want people to feel empowered, cared for, and reminded that they are not forgotten.
This isn’t just our story anymore. It’s a story we share with every patient, every caregiver, and every family looking for hope in the middle of the hard.
Thank you for being here.
